Meet Our Team

David Mears, DVM
Dr. David Mears, DVM Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in IllinoisDr. David Mears, DVM, graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and attended Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine for clinical training.  Dr. Mears has worked in both general practice and emergency medicine.  Using his diverse background, he is able to provide a wide range of care to patients.

Dr. Mears is thrilled to have a fully operational veterinary clinic to be able to explore his interests in the veterinary field; of which, surgery and neurology are at the top of the list.  Dr. Mears excels in dentistry as well as radiology and internal medicine.  Outside of work, Dr. Mears loves spending time with this little girl, Haley Rose, and his wife, Dr. Julie Mears. He also enjoys spending time with his furry family, including his dogs, cats and horse.His other hobbies include riding four-wheelers and target shooting.


Julie Mears, DVM
Dr. Julie Mears, DVM Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh Illinois  Dr. Julie Mears graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She completed her clinical training at Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys performing surgery, wellness care (especially new puppies and kittens), ophthalmology and dentistry. She enjoys getting to know the pet parents and becoming part of their families. Children have been known to get to listen to their own pets’ heartbeats during their visits with her!

Dr. Julie has a little girl named Haley Rose. Her pets include 2 amazing dogs, Daisy and Ruby, two wild kitty cats, Willie and Moe, and a horse named Wicket. Her hobbies include horseback riding, ice skating, swimming, boating and hiking.

Unfortunately, she lost her beloved dog Buddy, a black labrador retriever this year. He was a
huge influence on her entire life. He lives on in her heart and is represented throughout the entire clinic including portraits and the logo at their Troy location.

Alison Kinnunen, DVM
Dr. Alison Kinnunen, DVM Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in IllinoisDr. Alison Kinnunen graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.  She has over 20 years experience in emergency and companion animal medicine.  She has a special interest in feline medicine and really enjoys working with cats, even the ‘spicy’ ones!  In addition to daily practice she serves on the board of a feline rescue group.

Outside of work Dr. K enjoys bicycling, traveling, reading and spending time with friends.  She currently shares her home with her adopted cats Jordan, Luther, Teddy, Simon and Solstice.

Her special interests in veterinary medicine include challenging internal medicine cases and treatment of chronic diseases. She also loves new puppies and kittens and developing a relationship with the families caring for them through all stages of their lives.

Timothy Holt, DVM
Dr. Tim Holt, is a Veterinarian at the Troy IL Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Holt was born and raised in Southern Illinois in the St. Louis metropolitan area. He studied chemistry as an undergraduate and continued on to complete his DVM at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1982. Upon graduation, Dr. Holt entered private practice with his father, Dr. Leland Holt, at Bellemore Animal Hospital until the fall of 1983. In 1984, Dr. Holt purchased the practice from his father’s estate and developed the practice to an AAHA 4 year accreditation status. In 1989, Dr. Holt opened a second practice location, Shackelford Veterinary Hospital, in Florissant, Missouri also at a 4 year AAHA accreditation status. In 1993, Dr. Holt graduated from the second class of the AAHA Veterinary Management Institute at the Krannert School of Business, Purdue University. He was the first veterinarian in the St Louis metropolitan area to purchase and use the Luxar (now Lumenis) Laser system in June of 1998. Since then he has performed over 5000 surgical procedures using the Lumenis Laser technology. Dr. Holt served as a past president of both the St. Louis Metro East Veterinary Medical Association and the Southern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association. In June 2000, Dr Holt left private practice and returned to academia. In 2005, Dr Holt started Relief Surgical Services, a Midwest based traveling referral surgical practice that provides select veterinary hospitals with in house advanced surgical procedures and treatments. Dr Holt is certified in Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, Sliding Humeral Osteotomy, Helica Total Hip Prosthesis, and the Modified Maquet Procedure for Tibial Tuberosity Advancement. Judith Brockman,  Practice Manager
Judith Brockman - Veterinary Practice Manager of Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisJudith Brockman brings us 27 years of management and customer service experience. She was raised in west central Illinois on a livestock and grain farm. She is a graduate of Patricia Stevens Career College with a major in Customer Service/Business.  After  16 years in General Motors management,  she decided to switch to her lifelong interest in animals and pursued a career in the veterinary field.  She spent ten years with a mixed practice before moving to the Metro-East area and joining the Mears’ staff.  Judy and her husband, Bruce, reside in Marine, IL.  They have six children and love spending any free time with their family and traveling.

Kay, CVT
Kay, CVT of Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisKay, CVT, graduated from Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology. Kay has over 12 years of experience in the veterinary field, which include Emergency and Critical Care.

Kay enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband and daughter. Kay has many four legged friends which include: 5 dogs, 5 cats, and 3 Whitetail deer. Kay, in her free time, also provides rehabilitation for wildlife; mainly squirrels and deer.

Kay, outside of work, enjoys horseback riding, hiking and scrapbooking.

Kayla, CVT
Kayla - Staff at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisKayla, CVT, graduated from the SICCM program through Kaskaskia College with a degree in Veterinary Technology.  She worked as an extern at multiple clinics to gain experience with various animals including horses, cows, dogs and cats.  Her interests in the field include phlebotomy and microbiology.  

She has several of her own animals, including a cat and a hedgehog.  When she is not at work, she enjoys hiking, playing Bingo on Saturday nights, and doing puzzles.

Nicole, CVT
Nicole - Staff at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisNicole, CVT, graduated from the Vet Tech Institute through Hickey College.  She is very passionate about caring for animals and believes that every day is an opportunity to discover something new.  Radiology is one of her chief interests in the veterinary field.  

When Nicole is not helping animals at her job, she takes pleasure in scuba diving and curling up with a good book.  She also like playing fetch with her dog and taking him on hikes. 

Kim, CVT
Kim - Staff at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisKim, CVT graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication. After a short stint in the professional world, she decided that a desk job was not for her. In 2011 she got married to her wonderful husband Dan, and decided to go back to school to become a veterinary technician .She had always had a passion for animals so it was a perfect fit. She graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in 2013. After passing her boards, she became a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Missouri and is currently working on becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in Illinois. In January of 2015, she became a mom to a bouncing baby boy named Bryce. The Shaddricks also have a fur-baby named Charlie who is a lab mix weighing in at about 65 pounds. She loves working for the Shiloh Vet Clinic because they offer a family  oriented environment and the strong bonds they make with their clients.

Allison
Allison - Staff at Shiloh Veterinary Clinic in Shiloh, IllinoisAllison has 5+ years in both management and customer service experience.  She has always had an interest in both exotic and domestic animals since her childhood and is currently pursuing a degree in Wildlife Biology.  Allison has been with Shiloh since May 2014; she has two dogs and two cats of her own, as well as fostering from time to time.

When she is not at the clinic, Allison enjoys outdoor activities with her dogs, gymnastics, and volunteering at animal shelters.  Any extra free time, Allison loves to travel and visit with family and friends.
